Documentation
Export Jira issues to Excel, PDF, or Word — any number, no row caps.
What Tablet does
Tablet exports your Jira issues to Excel, PDF, or Word — any number of
issues, with no row caps. Build reusable templates, preview before you export, and schedule
recurring exports. It runs entirely on Atlassian Forge, so your issue data never leaves
Atlassian.
Installing
Install Tablet from the
Atlassian Marketplace
onto your Jira Cloud site. No configuration is required to start — the
Export issues action appears automatically in the issue navigator.
Exporting issues
- In Jira, open the issue navigator and build the filter you want to
export — any JQL or basic search works.
- Open the Apps menu (top right of the issue navigator) and choose
Export issues.
- In the dialog:
- Format — choose Excel (.xlsx), PDF, or Word (.docx).
- Columns — add or remove fields, reorder them with the ↑ ↓ buttons,
and rename any column header inline.
- Preview — the table shows the first rows of your current search so
you can confirm the columns before running the full export.
- Click Export. A progress bar shows how many issues have been processed;
when it finishes, the file downloads to your browser.
There is no limit on the number of issues — large exports are processed in
the background and assembled into a single file.
Templates
A template saves a format plus an ordered set of columns and custom headers so your team
exports the same way every time.
- Configure your columns and format, type a template name, and click
Save template.
- Load a saved template any time from the Template dropdown.
- Delete a template you no longer need with the Delete button.
Scheduled exports
Create unlimited recurring exports that run automatically.
- Set up the columns and format you want.
- In Scheduled exports, give the schedule a name, pick a cadence (daily,
weekly, or monthly) and an hour (UTC), and click + Schedule.
- Each run appears in Recent scheduled runs, where you can download the
file.
- Toggle a schedule off, or delete it, at any time.
Formats
- Excel (.xlsx) — a spreadsheet with a filterable header row.
- PDF — a clean, paginated, print-ready table.
- Word (.docx) — a document table you can drop into a report.
Privacy & data
Tablet reads only the issues you have access to, and stores only your saved templates and
schedules (plus short-lived export data) inside Atlassian’s own storage. Nothing is sent to any
external server. See the privacy policy.
